Attendance Policy

Whenever a student is absent, it is required that an excuse with the reason for the absence be on file at the school.

 

  1. All absences must be verified by a note from the parents/guardians. Note must include date note was written, students name, grade, address and parents day time (work) phone number, date(s) absent, reason(s) student was out of school, and parents/guardians signature.
  2. Absence from school will be excused for: (1) illness, (2) Doctor's Appointment, (3) Bereavement, (4) Court.
  3. Absences from school for any reason other than the above mentioned will not be excused by the school unless it is cleared in advance by the school. If there is any doubt about the absence being excused, call the Attendance Office at (310) 898-6070.
  4. Excessive absence (three or more days), escused or unexcused, will result in a referral from the teacher and a letter will be mailed to the parents advising them of the policy on absenteeism and the continued absence may result in denial of credits and futher action may be taken by the school. If chronic health conditions, or special considerations are involved, parents/guardians must verify such conditions with the administrations.
